SAR
"Vertigo" is a Division of the Airwego Virtual Airline Group
This page contains a number of training exercises to hone your skills before we let you loose on your first rescue missions !
We have based two airframes at two different locations
G-VSAR is based at Southampton Airport (EGHI) in a leased hangar (we will be providing permanent hangarage in due course)
The Second aircraft, G-LONB is based at Portland (EGDP), in a dedicated SAR hanger already built there.
The Offshore Training aid is located at
Lat N50:47.01 Long W001: 17.42
(10.2NM South of EGHI, on a heading of 171 degrees)
The scenery for the training aid can be downloaded
TRAINING FLIGHTS
The following two flights are to be mastered before continuing to the mission pages. Each flight is a round trip from each aircraft's operating base to the Offshore Training Aid (TPV001) where a successful landing on each of the two pads must be performed.
Be aware of your aircraft's length..it will only JUST fit on the upper platform. The lower platform is slightly bigger, but has the added hazard of a mock up of a ship's superstructure to avoid.
Set your weather to the "Weather Themes".."Stormy Weather" for the training runs...after all..it's not going to be bright sunshine for every mission is it....? Also, make landings in daylight, and at night.
| Flight Number | From | Offshore Routing | To | Type | Reg |
| SART001 | EGHI |

Once you have completed your training you may carry on to your missions. The mission page is linked below. Because you've passed your training (you have...haven't you ??), you will find an alternative aircraft that you may use other than the S61 for the real missions.
