Gulf of Mexico Contract
"Vertigo" is a Division of the Airwego Virtual Airline Group
The Gulf of Mexico is littered with thousands of installations in order to supply the USA's voracious appettite for fuel.
Many of these installations are small unmanned satellites capable of taking aircraft only up to the size of the Bell 206, and EC120 Colibri. The larger platforms regularly take the larger Bells, and the Sikorsky S76 size of aircraft.
Vertigo have been awarded a contract for the support operations in an area of the Gulf surrounding Galveston, from Brazos in the West, to the "Mississippi Canyon" in the East. This page details the flights, and aircraft types. Linked to each flight is it's Mayfly entry detailing timings.
NOTE
Normal scheduled flights in the Gulf of Mexico are daylight and VFR only. Satellites do not have night lighting, and there are no navaids out there. All navigation is by GPS, and if that fails..dead reckoning !
Where are we ?

The whole of the northern area of this map is covered with oil & gas installations. Over 6000 ! This Contract is the beginning of a project to model and support all of the fixed installations in this area.
----
The Aircraft
A dedicated Gulf of Mexico fleet has been procured, and consists of the following aircraft types:
Eurocopter EC120
Bell 206
Bell 412 ST
The first two on the list are used primarily for satellite shuttle duties, as the majority of satellite installations are only capable of taking light aircrat.
The 412 is used more for long distance ferrying, and support of the larger platforms for crew transport/cargo work.

The Scenery
This can be downloaded from the following link: (NB FS9/FS2004 Only)
Gulf of Mexico Offshore Installations
The download includes an FS Navigator flightplan for a round trip of all the installations, plus a map for those without. This scenery is being expanded, and will include (in future uploads), AFCAD files to enable flight plans to be made in Flight Simulator's Flight Planning Tool.
All installations are listed with latitude and longitude locations.
A total of 24 offshore installations are included. Future updates will increase this to over 6000 !! (yes..six THOUSAND !).

The Schedules
