Advanced IFR Training
"Vertigo" is a Division of the Airwego VA Group
I hope you've got the hang of rotary flying by now - this is going to push you to the limit.
This site is based on a real scenario used on a procedures trainer in real life. CHC Helicopters in Halifax N.S. have based their trainer on Flight Simulator, and real helicopter pilots use the training package you are about to download to hone their skills. Note - this package is designed for FS2004. The scenery will display in FS2000/2002, but the saved flights will not work.
The aircraft currently assigned to the Nova Scotia Training Fleet is the S61N which can be downloaded from the Vertigo Fleet page.
So - what do you have to do ?
Well, it's easy - (the preparation, not the flying ! :-).
First, Download the IFR Training package from here and install it. In the Halifax Training package, are adventures that include weather - and we mean WEATHER !! and the required approach plates.
Then download the S61 trainer from the fleet page.
If you have FS Navigator, the patforms will display on the map, and if not, you will have to relay on the platform NDB's which are as follows:
DH Alpha 280.0
DH Bravo 279.0
DH Charlie 278.0
The aim:
With the weather set up as described in the Trainer package notes, carry out the following:
Circuits and landing at Halifax.
Circuits and Landing at Sydney.
Fly from Halifax Int. to all three rigs in turn, and end up at Sydney.
Fly from Sydney back to Halifax
Planning the flight is entirely up to you !
When you have completed that, you can definitely pat yourself on the back !!
