Coastal Britain Flight

Airwego has decided to give all our pilots the chance to fly around Coastal Britain in a nice leisurely way…..by DH Chipmunk or Jet Ranger.

There are no rules as such but we have put together some things that we would like you to do.

1. Please keep to 2,500' unless terrain dictates you go higher. (no medals given for flying into hillsides etc!)
2. Observe all correct rules of flying.
3. Use default ATC wherever possible and within the bounds of ATC use your navigation skills.
4. If possible use some sort of real weather. If not available try using the weather programme within FS and give yourself some plausible weather to fly in. Remember that you have to observe weather conditions and NO flying if minimum cloud base less than 300'. There is to be no night flying!
5. Remember that if you muck up your approach then you will have to 'go around'. It makes it more fun to do and more realistic.
6. Log all flights as your hours count. There is only one leg that is rather long and most of it is over water but should be no longer than 90 mins, the greater majority of them will, in fact be a lot less.
7. Please ensure your flightsim is not set to unlimited fuel.

8. The aircraft are available from the Airwego website.

This set of flights has been devised for pilots to have a change in routine and to get to see a bit of the Britain Airwego is proud to hail from.

All fuel bills and landing fees for the CB flights to be sent to Fleet Manager. (that's right! Airwego is footing the bill.)
If there are any snags then please get them fixed and notify Maintenance as soon as possible.
Please keep the aircraft clean inside and out as others will be using it.

* Please note that this airfield may not exist in your FS. If it is the case then just fly on to EGNT.

Total miles flown 2812nm (direct)

As you can see the details above are the airfields you need to fly to and from with the distance given in a straight line. The distances and times will vary with the exact routes you take and of course the direction given is in a straight line between the airfields just as a general guide.
We could have made flight plans for each leg but that would take the fun out of it!

You can take as long as you want doing the route and you may do more than one leg each time you fly. It is totally up to you!
We would be pleased to see the odd snapshot of your journey so send them to us so we can put them up on the website.

Enjoy yourself and best of luck!
